Visiting the One and Only (tm)

As many are aware, our cynical and not-so-currently-witty friend has fallen extremely ill with e-coli, and has not yet recovered. In her agony, Rachel and I decided to try to relieve her of her misery and stop by her house to pay our homage to the damsel in distress.

So, we go to Safeway in the plaza to pick up a get-well card for her, and that's when we see the most awesome balloon ever. We decided in a moment that it was too perfect and that we would have to get it for the tmew.

I would normally post a real picture, but since I don't have that, you will all have to settle for a pro MS paint job.

Anyways, I'm not even joking about the proportion of size. Note the nice little heart shaped weight at the bottom of the string to keep the balloon from flying away. Awww, isn't that the cutest thing. Tracy would love it.

The only problem was mobility, which I soon had the pleasure of finding out. In fact, the instant I held the string to this monstrosity, I felt thoroughly embarrassed. It didn't help I hit a couple of people on the way out of Safeway in the card aisle, and also an elderly lady walking out of the plaza. I apologized profusely naturally, but I believe people were more amused than offended by our happy flower.

So, we walked allllll the way to Tracy's house, with the wind constantly shifting the direction the balloon travelled. We had quite a bit of fun avoiding the cars and also the trees, which threatened to puncture our most excellent balloon. Btw, there's too many damn pine trees in Burnaby.

Anyways, when we finally reached tmew's house, we stayed outside her house to write her card. My message was typical mia style, that is to say not overly sappy, yet generic: "Hey TM, you've been out of commission so long you should be hospitalized! Get well soon!"

When we finished, we rang the doorbell, to which Justin (her brother) answered.
"Hey Justin! We brought Tracy stuff!"
"Thanks. I'm sure she'll appreciate it!"
"Is Tracy taking visitors right now?"
"Ahh, no she's actually still at the hospital." (Rachel and I had no idea of course)
"*sheepish*...................... Gimme that card back, now."

We had a good laugh about it naturally, after I crossed out my mistake, and I'm sure tmew will too, once she recovers. And thus ends our adventure involving bigass balloons. Get well soon tmew!
