So anyways, I was on break, and then I was eavesdropping as usual on my co-worker. The woman was complimenting him and wanted to give him a kudos to a supervisor.
Anyways, we have a system to ask for "e-bills" at the end of every call, so dutifully, Wallace (my co-worker) asks the customer, "would you be interested in having your bill sent to you through email instead of paper?" The customer agrees, and I see Wallace copying down the customer's email address onto paper first. He spells out 'slutrbyaway' and I start laughing. Wallace wants to laugh to but he has to restrain himself from bursting. He repeats the email address to the customer letter by letter... "so it's s-l-u-t-r-b-y-..."
"No! I said F for Frank!"
HAHAHAHA. Ah, we had a good laugh about that.
Other than that? A typical crappy day. Although, geez alot of escalations today. Some old hag was moaning on me for squamish being out for like 15 hours. "BLAH BLAH I NEED THIS FOR MY BUSINESS." Yadda yadda, you're not even on a business package MA'AM.
Oh yeah, when I passed a call to a supervisor today, the customer blew up on the supe. Haha that was funny too. "Don't you be so fucking flippant with me!" ooooooooh. It was weird, he called in and was pleasant sounding. "I don't think I'll be able to make tomorrow's service call."
"Okay, we can rebook that appointment if you'd like. How does Thursday 8am-12pm work for you?"
"I want to speak to a supervisor."
"Uh... I don't understand why?"
"I'm not going to answer anymore of your fucking questions just get me a supervisor now!"
"Ok."
Yeah that was weird.
Then there was that other dumbass who called in with a heavy accent. I was like "Can I get your phone number?"
He gave it to me and I asked for name and address and he's like "I'm not giving that to you, you can already see my account. "
I said it's for verification purposes, now what's your name? Like pulling a nails from a board, I finally get that info from him.
Then he proceeds to explain his problem in one sentence, dunno what the fuck he's saying, and when I'm trying to reiterate him, and he's like F*&*#$ing don't you know anything, get me a different rep!
Without hesitation, I say ok, hold. *releases call*
Did I mention that I broke my previous record and took 45 calls the other day? I wonder if I'll ever hit 50. Who cares.

I sure love our antivirus software.
I like outage calls.
I hate SS calls. Why do people insist on having 3 firewall programs running along with 2 antivirus programs and to top it off, 2 anti-spam programs? OH WAIT, don't forget the router as well, because we need that extra protection from the baddies on the internet ooh. Just when you thought you got rid of them all, YOU HAVEN'T! Oops you missed Norton ghost. Oops you missed zone alarm.
One customer today, he had this kind of set up! (less exagerrated). I asked him for the 3rd time, "Are you SURE you don't see any other programs that might say firewall or antivirus"
"UHUH UHUH UHUH"
"Ok restart your computer. Actually the installation after this is pretty intuitive, I think you can handle it from here on."
"NONONO I need you to stay on with me all the way while my slowass computer loads."
... 8 minutes later after drinking a whole cup of coffee....
'Shaw secure installation has detected zone alarm installed in your system and it will have to be removed before proceeding'

Introduction
Well, I thought I was going to try to create a blog from scratch...
As you can see, that turned out well.
Today, I actually had a decent number of calls. 43!! Man that's a personal record. I shouldn't work too hard though that's for sure.
"My internet and TV are not working."
*While customer is talking, checks outage page and sees their area has an outage.*
"Ok, I'll run a detailed report for you to see what's going on. Please hold."
*Puts the customer on hold and grabs some coffee, then sits back in chair sipping coffee.*
...10 minutes later...
"Thanks for holding sir. I see there is an outage in your area at the moment and our technicians are currently working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Have a good day."
Yep, I sure have one of the toughest jobs in the industry. Then again, I'm not kidding. Being technical support for anyone's ISP is the absolute worse. Every other company blames you when it's obviously their fault. We're the scapegoats for all.
The most annoying thing I find is when those dumbass CSRs keep phoning me and asking me to do their job! WTF, I do my job, what the hell do you do all day? Transfer calls over to us? When our supervisors said that CSRs should be treated like customers as well, they're not kidding. They sure can be as stupid as them sometimes.
End of rant for today.
