It's nice to know I'm relatively respected around the office, cause I had several different individuals today wish me a happy birthday. On the other hand, I am sorely reminded that I will be too old too soon.
When I was over at Rachel's celebrating New Year's and getting my face stuffed, I could barely hold my own with a glass of a wine and less than half a can of beer. With this poor excuse for an alcohol tolerance, it is clearly evident that I am almost over the hill and obselete.
Let me meditate on my past achievements since my last birthday... actually, there's quite alot, and I've learned quite a bit. In fact, it's probably been the most significant year in my life thus far. Achievements and regrets, love and hate, drama and boredom. All there. I can safely say I am happy as a clam now. Maybe. Who knows.
I realized I have a pet peeve with people who continually say 'however' in real life. I was chosen randomly to go to a student focus group, and there was this annoying student who kept talking like his opinion was better than everyone's elses, and he always went like this: point point blah blah blah blah HOWEVER, blah blah blah blah. HE MUST HAVE DONE THAT EVERY OTHER SENTENCE HE TALKED, WHICH, BY THE WAY, WAS A HELL OF A LOT. Retard.
Anyways, /end rant. I'm done for today.

Rotten day from hell...
That must have been the hardest call I've ever dealt with. *sigh*
2 1/2 fucking hours. For one fucking call. Yawn. Number gets ported out magically to a different Telco without customer knowing it, CSR screwing up on the same customer's transfer work order.. Nightmare galore. It seemed to me that technical service was the least likely department to deal with such a nightmare, but alas, since the customer spoke cantonese, I was volunteered for the position.
Did I mention it took me at least a good hour to first figure out what the hell was happening? Oh god. What a nightmare. That customer was just as confused as I was, and here I am trying to explain my confusion in Cantonese to boot. Fuck.
Oh, today is just not a good day for calls. I had 5 calls or so that lasted half an hour each, and I believe 4 out of 5 of them remained unresolved. Bullshit day. Come to think of it, bullshit week. A bitchy ass lady yesterday had the nerve to say I wasn't helping when I was trying my best. I think that's one of the things that really set me off at work - when a customer tells me I'm not helping or I don't know what I'm talking about. That's when my tone suddenly goes cold and I'm not willing to help at all. For most other things, I'm such a patient person, it amazes me sometimes.
Then I came home and lost multiple DOTA games till I finally went godlike in my second to last game. That's why I'm not pissed enough to go straight to bed without blogging about my bitchy ass day. I swore alot in this entry. Wait I swear alot in this blog.

Chicago Bears blow it
Too bad Chicago, with those massive interceptions. You lose.
Yes, I *gasp* volunteered myself for an overtime 4-hour shift for work. Isn't that crazy? I wouldn't be caught dead working in the office usually, but at double time, who the hell can resist?
It was quiet. Really quiet. At one point, I waited 10 minutes in ready waiting for the next call. 10 minutes is well... 5 bucks after taxes. Excellent.
I forgot to complain about the co-worker who is gated for HDTV. First, he just puts the customer on hold and asks and gets me, asking basic ass questions like how to program one's remote control. I impatiently answer his questions, as they are so basic, and he is so stupid. How the hell does one not know where our remote control manual is after working there for a year. Anyways, that's not the worst of it. It was sort of a unique situation because the customer had a Samsung dvd/receiver combo. After hanging up with this incompetant rep, the next call I receive is a cold transfer from him with the same customer with the same Samsung dvd/receiver item. What a dumbass.
But yeah, apparently I make a lasting impression on CSRs, cause when I picked up a call, I couldn't even recognize this girl's name on our call display. She obviously recognized me though: "MIA?? WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? I HAVEN'T HEARD YOUR VOICE FOREVER!!"
